Article 1.
In this law the expression "religious
bodies" means Shinto sects, Buddhist sects and denominations
of Christianity or other religions (hereinafter called (Shinto
or Buddhist) sects and denominations), Buddhist temples, and
churches.
Article 2.
(Shinto or Buddhist) sects, denominations
and churches may be juridical persons.
Article 3.
Buddhist temples shall be juridical persons.
When it is desired to establish a (Shinto
or Buddhist) sect or a denomination the persons establishing
it shall submit the regulations governing the sect or the
denomination; they shall also, in cases where it is desired
that it should be a juridical person, state clearly the
reasons; and they must obtain the sanction of the competent
Minister of State.
The following particulars shall be stated
in the regulations governing a sect or the rules of a
denomination:-
Outline of doctrine.

Particulars in regard to the propagation
of the doctrine and the conduct of ceremonies.
Particulars in regard to the organization,
the appointment and dismissal, and the functions of
the superintendent priest, the director of the
denomination and other organs.
